New Search Engine Launched to Defeat Google

Former web staffers have launched a giant search engine named cuil pronounced as "cool" which uses more than 120 billion pages to build up its index and is more than what google uses. The algorithm of the website is different than what google uses. Cuil rates the web pages as per the information and numbers of the visitors to that particular website instead of quality backlinks as in case of google. But surely the website will have to struggle like other search engines.

The founders of this website Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier are former Google staffers. The other founder Tom Patterson worked for IBM and others on search and storage technologies.
